About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified carpenter to provide day to day reactive and planned maintenance for carpentry and painting and all other general maintenance requests, whilst ensuring the timely and cost effective completion for Wairarapa Hospital. This "hands on" role supports the Buildings & Property Facilities Manager in ensuring that the district has a reliable client friendly carpentry service to all of its sites.
You will have the knowledge and ability to provide quotes for remedial work and liaise with contractors as required, you will also work with the Maintenance Team, undertaking remedial work and relocation of the mobile dental clinic service.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE), Monday-Friday, with a requirement to participate in the afterhours on call roster.

The Wairarapa Maintenance Team is a small but committed service that provides various maintenance services to Wairarapa Hospital and our other sites. Our service trades include, Engineers, Electricians and Carpentry along with Administration support and in-home equipment for the community.

About you
Qualifications
- Trade qualifications in carpentry/joinery or a complementary trade qualification.
- Have a clean NZ driver's licence.
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
Desired
- Advanced certificates/tertiary qualification in compliance specific/related areas would be an advantage.
