About the Role

This position is to provide point of care clinical coaching, mentorship & education to achieve clinical skill and practice development for nurses delivering critical care support within the Acute Services of Wairarapa Hospital.

The role is intended to be as a ring-fenced component (0.3 FTE), of an existing role enabling the successful applicant to maintain valuable clinical connection while contributing to service and workforce development.

About the Service

The Practice Development Unit (PDU) provides Te Whatu Ora Wairarapa nursing staff with professional development, education and training support. PDU staff embrace the consistent pursuit of professional expertise within a culture of lifelong learning, supporting the nursing workforce in the provision of high-quality care.

About you

  • Registration with Te Kaunihera Tapuhi o Aotearoa - Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and scope appropriate to area of work
  • Relevant post graduate qualification (or working towards).
  • Expert level PDRP portfolio (or working towards).
  • Minimum of 3 years' post graduate experience with expertise in critical care.
  • Experience in nursing education and/or previous experience in senior nursing roles.
  • Expert knowledge in critical care nursing within appropriate settings.
  • New graduate and post graduate professional pathways.
  • Certificate in adult education.
